ok translation.

It is not based on the KJV. That may bother some. I think it is based on the Vulgate or an orthodox translation. it was better than nothing.

a split personality

The Russian is really very nice, with poetic and mature renderings in many places. As a resource for language study I would give it five stars. But...it's just so rabidly in lock step with a specious and purely agenda-driven underlying Greek text. Then there are the subtle doctrinal torpedoes one has to dodge from time to time (the careful reader will discern.) For those aspects I could not give it more than one star. Split the difference for about three stars overall. He bless! (see 1 Tim 3:16, ha, ha!)

This is an excellent translation that brings new life to the spiritual discourse of Russian society. The work reflects the hard-wrought effort of not only a practicing believer, Mikhail Kulakov, but a Russian intellectual who transcends sectarian boundaries. Finally, my Russian brothers and sisters may read a fresh, living translation and once again encounter the living God.
